UPDATE! 3/10/06
Dina is doing great and is ready to be adopted! She just needs to be monitored periodically by a vet and fed a hay and greens only diet. NO PELLETS!

MEDICAL UPDATE 2/27/06
Dina underwent extensive bladder surgery to remove one very large stone and many, many small ones. Without surgery , her life would have been filled with pain and likely dramatically shortened. Now she can live a normal life, just with a monitored diet with lots of hay and fresh, low calcium veggies, but NO pellets.

We are very pleased to report that so far, Dina is recovering very well. She seems brighter and much happier to be out of pain. Her surgery cost over $1000.

I was surrendered to the SF Animal Control shelter by someone who loved me, but was unable to care for my medical needs. I have a very painful and serious problem with bladder stones, and I need surgery ASAP to save my life.

The shelter called SaveABunny for an emergency rescue and they picked me up and took me to the veterinarian today. She took x-rays (2/13/06) and said it is a miracle that I have survived this long with such an advanced case of bladder stones. The stones have nearly filled and blocked my bladder.The surgery to remove the stones is estimated to cost about $1,500 to $1,600.

SaveABunny works very hard to rescue special needs bunnies like me who have no other options and would be euthanized. Your support and generosity helps to save many loving little ones like me, who would otherwise lose their lives.
