Hi Everyone, Nola gets to write the happy posts and me, well...
Today we said goodbye to "Mouse 1" (I loved that name!). He was rescued from the San Jose euthanasia list when Heather from The Rabbit Haven asked us to take him and another mouse into rescue (Mouse 2 is still with us and is nice, but shy.)

I know it may be hard for some people to understand why I loved my Mouse 1 and why I will miss him. He was a friendly guy who "knew" me and would usually come to say hello when I would visit. Though people thought I was nuts, we built him and Mouse 2 each a very large, luxury mouse house filled with toys, places to hide and yummy food.

Mouse 1 just made me smile. People will tell you that. Tiny, cute and very busy. Easy to handle and hold. My day would go from mouse to rabbit to horse and back again. Each encounter was a reminder of how special the little ones (and a big horse) are in my life. It was truly a gift to be able to spend time with Mouse 1 and he did know he was loved. Mice don't live more than a year or so and he was pretty raggedy when he came to us.

This morning when I went to feed him I found him all curled in his tunnel as if peacefully sleeping...goodbye, little Mouse 1. I loved you. ~Marcy
