UPDATE 11/7/07
Dear Friends,
Sadly we received word tonight that Laura passed away very suddenly at her foster home after a dip treatment for ringworm.
We are all very saddened---especially her foster dads and all we can do is take comfort in knowing that Laura was loved and had at least a few weeks with people who cared for her.

Laura came into San Francisco Animal Care and Control as a very matted and dirty stray with ringworm. She was not considered adoptable at that time, so we took her into rescue and had been treating her both here at SaveABunny and also at a foster home that was experienced dealing with ringworm in kittens.

Chances are that Laura had some unknown health issues and consequently was too compromised to heal.

We all send comforting thoughts to Jason and Enrique for their help with Laura and wish her well on her journey over the Rainbow Bridge.

NOTE FROM SAVEABUNNY FOUNDER:
Hi Everyone,
Laura came into San Francisco Animal Care and Control as a stray in pretty bad condition. She was dirty, had urine scald, and ultimately tested positive for ringworm. Talk about a "perfect storm" of problems that makes a rabbit "unadoptable" at a shelter.

So,we received the call that Laura needed rescue or would be euthanized. Originally we had a foster home set up for her with someone who also does kitten rescue, but unfortunately that fell though , so Laura is here with us in isolation from the other rabbits.

We would really love to find a foster home for Laura where she can get the one-on-one attention she craves and has time to heal from ringworm. Laura is spayed and treatment of ringworm is not complicate, but it is highly contagious to people and other animals and requires a consistent cleaning protocol. She is already almost recovered.

If you can help us with Laura it will free up a space to help another rabbit in need as well as give Laura a special place of her own to recuperate.
Please let me know ASAP if you can help.
Thanks,
Marcy
