Hi. My name is Ava and my sad story now has a happy ending!
I was brought into San Francisco Animal Care and Control very critical condition by a family that did not care for me. I had been left out on the patio in the cold and rain and not given food or water. I was starving, in shock and my chances of survival were not good.
The kind staff at San Francisco Animal Care and Control immediately called for emergency rescue assistance and I was rushed to SaveABunny where I was seen by Dr. Debra Scheenstra who made an emergency house call. As you can see from the pictures, I was in very bad shape. I had painful urine scald, only weighed about 3 pounds, instead of 6-7 pounds and could not stand up.

I felt better after I was treated and cleaned up and went to live in a foster home for several months to recover. My survival chances were only about 50 percent.
But I beat the odds and now I am doing great! I love my family and happily relax around the house and enjoy lots of love and pets.
Life is good again
